Bryce D'Anice Aime A/W10

Bryce Aime Catwalk Show from On|Off TV on Vimeo.

Even though i have inserted only these two catwalk images into the mix, it really does sum up everything about the show. Dramatic, Intense and Awesome.

These three were so helpful, the shot was taken just before they walked the catwalk and they were so chilled out. It was really funny, because they were all giving me SMISE (smiling through eyes), whilst dancing and doing cartwheels. So they stopped for two seconds and i took the shot and i think it really brings out the closeness and the network which occurs backstage.

This model was so lovely to me and she was absolutely hilarious nicked my camera for a bit , she thought she was good but....ermmm.....yeah ...she really wasn't. I just said to her that she shouldn't quit her day job and i think thats some good advice on my part, because i think the image of her look fantastic. The vibrant skin tones, the soft touch of her hand to her cheek and sharp eyes and makeup make the image what it is.
Okay, so this image was one of those moments where you had to be there to get it. The basic story was, that there was a whole table of food......Dont be so surprised!!! Anyways, there was some sushi there and i had never tried any before and i saw one of the models eating it, so i confronted her to ask what it tasted like and wether it was nice or not. But then instantly the model next to us (above), turned around in absolute shock and shouted "It is delicious". At that point I was in stitches, repeating " I believe you, I believe you" whilst taking the shot. I guess it was just one of those moments, that could never be taken away from me.

Okay, before i start ranting on about the two images above and below, i just want to say a massive thankyou to everyone backstage, especially Bryce and Sally who made me feel welcome and right at home.

Now, on with the rant...Well i have to say these are probably might most favourite images of them all, out of any other show. I feel and say this, because of the intensity from the eyes which smacks you straight in the face, the deep and dramatic colours which makes the hair on the back of you neck stand on end and i think this is what STARING FASHION IN THE FACE is all about. A one to one battle of beauty, style and creativity.

She just looks as snug as a bug in a rug. But again the eyes and the lips really define the image and i love the slight tilt to her head giving the composition a little twist in angles.

Fiddling fingers and wandering thoughts......

The head bands which range from dark purples to light greys, were an inspiration from the egyptians, with the bandage designs printed on them.

How beautiful and lushes are her lips, seriously just stare at them for a few seconds or minutes... they look like cotton pads and her eye make-up was done superbly. The misty but deep purple and cloudy tints of brown around the eye lid, really does complete the whole look.

Danny Tang- Backstage A/W10

My first show to photograph backstage and on the catwalk for London Fashion Week A/W10 was Danny Tang's show. I had just met with him two days perviously and he was one of the most friendliest and welcoming people i have ever met, with an obvious passion and drive for his work. The collection for the show was based on Queen Victoria with a simple colour palette of black, red and gold. But his theme was clearly indicted by the intricate detailing of silver thread , delicate lace and plunging necklines.

Ok, Yes.... before you ask this is Jade from Britain's Next Top Model and yes.... she was quite small, but she just has an amazing look, naturally beautiful with some amazing saucers as eyes and weirdly enough she kinda looks like a music teacher i had a few years back....weird!

Anyways, i really wanted to put this series of images of her in, because she literally never looked at my camera and i kind of felt a little left out, because of her amazing eyes, but i played on that and had some really gorgeous and unpredictable shots, which capture the tense moments just before the models grace the catwalk.

HYDRA...(The snake lady)

Thought amongst madness........

Ok, so im gonna say firstly the two images above and below give a different vibe to the other images for this show and i cant put my finger on it. I'm gonna either say because of the model not being a naturally stereotypical model, with her huge lips (which i love because it gives the initial feeling that she would talk alot, but in actual reality she was quite shy and quite.....she was lovely though) and wide jaw or either because it looks like she has just been dragged through some bushes. But i dont mind as i think the images look very compelling and interesting with a clear narrative.

Damm!!!, the model Julie has one amazing stare , when i look at this photograph i feel totally engaged with her. I just think the eyes in any photograph no matter what scene tell a story, portray an emotion and create a clear connection with the audience.

Also, i love the black lace flower headwear with red jewelled garnishes placed in the centre of each flower design, which i think frames the face beautifully and also adds to the rich colours and textures of the photograph.
Again Michelle looks amazing in this image. I love the way there are so many dimensions to the photograph, with hair being pulled and flicked in many directions, creating a dynamic atmosphere and composition.

When i first look at the image above it reminds of the Mona Lisa, due to the fixed pose with the model's arms crossed and direct, staring eye contact, totally engaging the audience.
But when i was amongst the craziness backstage i saw Michelle (model) across the room with these popsicle like sticks sticking out of her and was really fascinated with what they actually did. So i found out that they keep the curls in place after they have curled it, i think anyways....well thats what the stylist says anyway.

Caroline Charles Catwalk show A/W10

Again i really adore this image, due to the natural borders of the audience completely framing the model and scene, making the whole centre focus on the garment and model. But i have to say, i need to buy that hat. I saw one similar in river island for about £9.99, in comparison to the £100 one perched on top of the models head, so as you can guess i need to review my fashion purchases a little more carefully.
Ok, so the image above is probably one of my favourite photographs of the event as it totally captures my emotions and feeling of this whole experience at the show. The smile on the models face just makes it for me, with the glimmering reflections from the lights swallowed up by the darkness.
I really love the above image, due to the creamy, lushes texture and colour of the jacket, with the creases and contours totally and utterly defined and emphasised by the lighting and walk of the model.
I really wanted to show the above image in colour, because i think the colours look stunning with the greens and reds really popping out. The dress as a whole i think personally looks like a really well decorated christmas tree, but i kind like it with the intricate details and the gorgeous earrings dangling from her lobe.

The images were shot with a 50mm f 1.8 on a canon eos 450d, now i was really worried that the lens would be too slow to capture the action but it managed giving i think amazing results.
But as a photographer i always look at the tiny details in every moment, wether it's the golden embellishments layered out on her garments, to shadows that grace the models body and the contours of the dresses.
God i can totally remember the day when my Caroline Charles invitation came through the post, I was literally jumping off the walls with excitement. Just thinking about actually watching in person her beautiful collection flaunt the catwalk.. and to be frank i was actually quite nervous, as this was my first ever London Fashion week catwalk show. So the feeling of being surrounded by people dressed in their Gucci stilettos, Prada suits and their Christian Dior sunglasses peering at my poorly stitched Primark T-shirt,... which was actually only £4, so i thought it was an absolute bargain and bought three so it will last for a few days during London Fashion week, felt a tiny bit intimidating but i fitted right in after getting chatting with an American fashion journalist from New York.
